11 short guides — one question per page, answered up front. Funding, schools, visas, and how DAVS works.

These pages target the specific questions people type into search. They are not guarantees. For deep programme or school explainers, use Scholarships and Schools. When you want hands-on packaging help, book a consultation.

Funding

  • How to apply for Chevening from Nigeria

From Nigeria you apply online through the Chevening portal when the annual call opens, usually around August to early November for the following UK academic year. You need an eligible undergraduate degree, the required work experience, strong essays, and eventually an unconditional UK master’s offer. Confirm every date and rule on chevening.org — blogs go stale.

  • What is a full-need scholarship?

A full-need scholarship (more accurately full-need aid) means the school calculates what your family can pay and aims to cover the gap between that and the cost of attendance with grants and other aid. It is not the same as an automatic merit “full ride” for every admit. High-income families may still pay full price.

  • DAAD vs Chevening: which should you apply for?

Apply to Chevening if you want a one-year UK master’s under the UK government leadership programme and you meet the work-experience and return rules. Look at DAAD if Germany is your destination — DAAD is a family of calls for master’s, PhD, and research, not one single form. Many serious candidates pursue both when timelines and eligibility allow.

Schools & aid

  • Does Harvard give a full ride to international students?

Harvard College does not hand every international student a merit “full ride,” but it meets demonstrated financial need for undergraduates under published policy — including international applicants in recent need-blind, full-need practice. If your calculated need is high, the package can look like a full ride relative to cost of attendance. Confirm the live policy on Harvard’s financial aid site.

  • CSS Profile vs FAFSA for US colleges

FAFSA is the US federal student aid form for eligible US citizens and eligible noncitizens. CSS Profile is College Board’s form used by many private colleges to award institutional aid. Many full-need schools want CSS Profile; some also want FAFSA. International applicants often file CSS Profile (or school-specific forms) and not FAFSA.

  • How to choose between full-ride US schools

Start with fit: major, location, size, and whether the school meets full need for your citizenship category. Then compare aid policies, not Instagram rankings. A “full ride” search result that is actually full-need aid will still require a complete CSS Profile and a competitive admission file.

Visa

  • How to apply for a Germany student visa

After you have admission (and funding proof as required), you apply for a German national visa for study through the German mission that serves your residence — usually with an online appointment, application forms, passport, admission letter, proof of funds (often a blocked account), insurance, and academic documents. Exact checklists differ by embassy. Embassy fees and proof-of-funds remain yours.

  • F-1 visa documents checklist

For an F-1 interview you typically bring your passport, Form I-20, SEVIS fee receipt, DS-160 confirmation, appointment confirmation, photos as required, admission evidence, and financial documents showing you can cover the first year as stated on the I-20. Your local US embassy list is the authority — use it over any blog checklist.

  • UK student visa after Chevening

A Chevening award strengthens your funding story, but you still apply for the UK student visa under the Immigration Rules with a Confirmation of Acceptance for Studies (CAS) from your university. Follow UKVI’s current document list and Chevening’s scholar instructions for that cohort. Funding support from Chevening does not remove the visa step.

Process & DAVS

  • How much is a DAVS consultation?

The consultation fee is listed on the consultation page — pay in NGN via Paystack or in USD via Stripe. The fee purchases a scheduled consultation and related intake process described on the site. Larger admission, scholarship, or visa engagements are quoted separately after that.

  • What happens after an admissions consultation?

After you pay, you get a confirmation page and email with WhatsApp and email contact. You sign in or create an account, complete the intake form, and we review your background. From there we schedule the consultation and discuss clear next steps for admission, scholarship, or visa work — with larger engagements quoted separately if needed.
